You are here

Technical diving is not for everyone. It is not necessary to be a tec diver to enjoy diving, nor should you consider it a natural step in your diver experiences. You can enjoy diving for decades without ever making a tec dive. But, if you are interested in exploring diving in more “depth”, then the DSAT Tec Deep Diver course is the start.

Tec diving takes you to sites and experiences beyond recreational diving, but for a price. Technical diving is more hazardous, and the only way to manage the hazards is through thorough training and the utilization of extensive equipment. It requires you to:

  • commit hours practicing & mastering new skills & techniques
  • have a psychological comfort level that will allow you to handle the stresses of technical diving
  • have a physical fitness level sufficient to handle the demands of tec diving
  • demonstrate a second-nature comfort level with general diving skills
  • have a high level of theory knowledge, self-confidence, and skill automacity
  • be prepared for the substantial financial investment of tec equipment
